Tokyo early highlight preview of Christie’s Hong Kong Fall Auction is now held at Christie’s Japan (Marunouchi, Tokyo)

This September, Christie’s Hong Kong headquarters will move to The Henderson Building, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects. In conjunction with the move, a 20th/21st century art auction will be held on September 26 and 27.

On July 18 and 19, Christie’s Japan in Marunouchi is holding a preview of the works that will adorn the auction’s evening day sale.

Previews include works by Yayoi Kusama, Kazuo Shiraga, Nagao Yamaguchi, and Lee Ufan.

Yayoi Kusama’s iconic series of net-like works, “INFINITY NETS,” are on view, including a large work nearly 200 cm in length and a rare vivid red work.

Two large works by Kazuo Shiraga will be exhibited, including a size 100 work.

Nagao Yamaguchi “Sankai” 1956

Nagao Yamaguchi’s “Sankai” (1956) is being offered on the market for the first time in about 50 years, after being purchased by an overseas collector in the 1970s.

Lee Ufan “East WInds” 1984

Paintings by Lee Ufan, internationally known as one of the leading artists of the “Mono-ha” school, can also be seen in the gallery at Christie’s Japan in Marunouchi.
