DESIGNART TOKYO is a circular event with a variety of presentations on design, art, furniture, fashion and technology at various locations in Tokyo. We have featured this one of the largest design and art festivals in Japan, which is also our media partner, in ONBEAT vol.19.
This autumn, DESIGNART TOKYO 2024 is going to be held for 10 days from 18 (Fri) to 27 (Sun) October in: Omotesando, Gaienmae, Harajuku, Shibuya, Roppongi, Hiroo, Ginza and Tokyo.
This year’s theme: Reframing ~the Beginning of a Shift~
This year’s theme is “Reframing ~the Beginning of a Shift~”, which aims to convey that ideas and creations which bring social advance are the results of continuous reflection and hands-on work. The event hopes to provide encounters with design and art that inspire people and bring joy to their daily lives.
Key visuals by Masaki Ogawa
This year’s key visual was shot by Masaki Ogawa, who was also in charge of the key visual for Osaka Art & Design 2023. By rotating and photographing everyday objects such as household items and design products that we see all the time, the importance of having a different perspective from the usual one that produces new discoveries, and the importance of sensitivity in noticing these discoveries are expressed.
